Situation

You have configurable products (i.e. parent) with associated simple products (i.e. child). Let's say shoes are available in several sizes and colors. The same applies for all types of parent-child product configuration, i.e. for bundled and grouped products as well.

In frontend you display only parent products but in the XML feed file you want to export also the child products. While the values of attributes size and color must be exported from given child product, some attributes have to be exported from associated parent products.

For example the URL attribute - you want to export all child products with child-specific attributes, however for all of them you want to export the parent product URL. This is usefull especialy in the case that child product URL returns 404 error because the Visibility attribute is set up as Not Visible Individually.

Step-by-step guide

Take the following steps:

1. In Export Profile detail navigate to the tab Feed Details → Attributes mapping table:
   • Find corresponding row with attribute and set the column Export parent product attribute value = Yes.
2. Next, navigate to the tab Product Filter → Common filter:
   • Select all Product Types.
   • Option Parent - Child set up as Childs only.
3. Run the export profile.
