Purpose of tracking

According to /wiki/spaces/koongo/pages/787751, Koongo Connector tracks feeds usage by Koongo users. Since Koongo covers more than 500 product search and price compasion websites world-wide, we need to analyze which feeds are the most popular ones among Koongo users. With regard to the feeds popularity we plan ongoing maintenance and development. In addition, tracking helps us to make strategic and business decisions and it makes our position stronger during communication with Feed Authorities. It helps us also to provide better user experience and support.

We ask you to keep feed tracking ON - on the other hand we promiss to track as less information as possible (see below). Should you decide to stop tracking, you can do it easily in connector configuration.

Tracked information

Koongo Connector tracks the following events:

  • Export Profile Creation - Feed type, Time stamp and Feed File URL.
  • Export Profile Execution - Feed type, Time stamp, Number of exported products, Number of exported categories, Feed File URL.

Tracking mechanism

No external calls

We don't use external calls or whatsover similar. Koongo tracking mechanism doesn't slow down your Magento neither your server.

Tracking information is simply stored in text file, located in media folder:

  • /pub/media/koongo/koongo.log

Then, in regular intervals Koongo robot checks the existence of log file in your media folder and downloads its content for further processing on Koongo Server.

Opting out

Should you decide to opt out from tracking, you can do it easily in connector configuration.

  • Navigate to Koongo → Configuration and set Provide Feed Usage Log = No:

  • Subsequently, manually delete the log file. Once you disable feed usage tracking, feed usage log file will not be generated again.
